Never
feed raw meats to your pets! You need
to cook it first. I treat my Bengals
with sliced turkey breast from the deli.
And NEVER feed cured meats like ham,
bacon... Too much salt. Canned tuna
is a good treat too. But this is not
a balanced meal.
Bengals
need plenty of protein provided in a
good quality dry kitten food. Some cats
remain playful and very active even
into their young adulthood and need
to stay on the kitten formula until
they start to slow down. Once settled
into maturity, you should gradually
switch them to an adult formula dry.
IAMS
all natural Lamb and Rice is my favorite.
Science Diet and Eukanuba as well as
several others out there are all good
quality, high protein foods. Now you
can get kitten formula in dry Eukanuba
as well.
Some
manufacturers claim their adult formula
is good for all stages. In my opinion
it doesn't seem logical. If the food
has all the calories, carbohydrates,
and such that it takes to stimulate
proper kitten growth, how would that
be healthy for a lesser active adult?
It would seem to me that they would
become overweight.
Science
Diet and IAMS as well as 9 Lives canned
"Chicken, Lamb and Rice" is easily digested
with minimal soft stool reaction. I
offer it whenever they don't seem quite
satisfied. We suggest you only offer
2 tablespoons 2 times a day so that
kitty will still eat the dry formula.
Canned foods don't have the nutrition
in them to feed it exclusively.
Dry
food provides needed nutrients for proper
development of their bones and teeth,
as well as good oral hygiene for your
kitty. Too much canned food also makes
for a very messy litter box. Pee-yew!
I feed all my Bengals Iams All Natural
Lamb and Rice Dry cat food and Eukanuba
Chicken and Rice dry kitten food as
a rule.
My
pregnant and nursing queens have a mixture
of kitten in with the dry food.
As
long as kitties are still chasing each
other through the house, they will need
Iams and Eukanuba!
